Accessibility, and how to tell us when it fails.
We target WCAG 2.1 Level AA across this site, and we will happily take your plumbing request in whatever format works for you.
A real person answers in under 60 seconds. You pay the plumber directly — never this dispatch service.
Call the Dispatch LineOur Commitment
SpeedyPlumbDispatch wants every visitor and caller — including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, voice control, or captions — to be able to reach a real person and get a licensed plumber. We target conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA for this website, and we follow the same standard when we add new pages at scale.
Accessibility is also a commercial necessity for us: the whole service is a phone call, so a visitor who cannot read our pages should still be able to find the number and be matched.
Measures We Take
- Semantic HTML with one H1 per page and a logical heading order, so screen readers can navigate by structure.
- Text contrast checked against WCAG AA ratios, and text that scales with browser font settings rather than fixed pixel sizes.
- Keyboard-operable navigation and links with a visible focus state; no keyboard traps.
- Large tap targets — buttons are at least 48px tall, and the mobile call bar is a thumb-reachable control at the bottom of the screen.
- Descriptive link text (“see coverage by region”, not “click here”) so link lists make sense out of context.
- Telephone links marked up as real
tel:links that dial from mobile devices, with the purpose stated in the link label. - No auto-playing audio or video, no content that flashes, and no reliance on color alone to convey meaning.
- Accessible data tables with header cells for our cost index, and alternative formats available on request.
- Accessibility considered in new page templates before publication, not retrofitted.
Known Limitations
- Third-party content. Embedded or linked third-party pages and tools are outside our control; their accessibility is the responsibility of their owners.
- Downloadable data. Our cost dataset is published as a CSV file. CSV is our best effort at a machine-readable format, but it may not suit every assistive technology — tell us and we will provide the same data as an accessible document.
- Phone audio. The dispatch line is a live voice call. If you need an alternative to voice — for example, if you are deaf or hard of hearing — email us and we will arrange another way to take your request and match a plumber.
Tell Us About a Barrier
If any part of this site or our dispatch process creates a barrier for you, tell us. Include the page or step involved, the assistive technology you use if you want to share it, and the format that would work for you.
We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within 5 business days and to provide the information or service you need in an alternative format within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, email again with “Accessibility Complaint” in the subject line and it will be reviewed at a senior level.
